God of Mercy, I pray tonight for states and lawyers challenging the second Muslim ban, for the ACLU nurturing local activism, and for volunteers in programs that reach out to neighbors without shelter when the weather gets bad. In different ways, they all are rejecting the denigration of other human beings and affirming the dignity of all. Bless them this night. May their rest be peaceful. And when morning comes, may their resistance be powerful. Amen.
