Laura Ellis

God of Joy, bless Laura Ellis, a music professor at the University of Florida. When a white supremacist gave a talk on campus, Ellis played "Lift Every Voice and Sing" on the carillon (the bell tower that can be heard all over campus). I imagine the many people who had gathered to stand against white supremacy enjoyed this rendition of the black national anthem. I bet they sang along. For those who resist with joy and style, we give thanks. Amen.
