U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit
Creator God, I pray tonight for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, which ruled against the current administration's efforts to suspend an Obama-era rule restricting methane emissions from new oil and gas wells.
Grant sacred power to all who care for and protect the Earth. Amen.
Vanita Gupta
God of Justice, bless Vanita Gupta, the CEO of the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights. She is one of the many experts who see the current administration's requests for voter data, along with requests that election officials detail their compliance with the National Voter Registration Act of 1993, as a step towards large-scale voter suppression. May she be surrounded by colleagues in the work of justice. May her voice be heard and heeded. Amen.
Ella's Song
God of Liberation, I give thanks for Dr. Bernice Johnson Reagon and Sweet Honey in the Rock for blessing us with Ella's Song. "We who believe in freedom cannot rest until it comes." Amen.
Hui Chen
God of Grace, bless Hui Chen, who resigned from her position at the Department of Justice holding corporations accountable to ethics standards. Chen stated that the current administration engages in conduct that violates such standards, conduct that she would not tolerate in a company. She wanted no part in such hypocrisy.
Please surround Chen with grace. Grant that her message be heard. Ensure that her integrity is honored. Amen.
Aristides de Sousa Mendes
Holy God, I give thanks for the former refugees, now in their 80s and 90s, who gathered in France last week to honor the man who helped them escape the Nazis. Aristides de Sousa Mendes was a Portuguese diplomat who defied government orders by granting visas to Jewish families fleeing persecution. The elders remembered his courage and asked for action to aid refugees today.
Bless the memory of Aristides de Sousa Mendes. Bless the former refugees who are advocating for curren

Steadfast God, I pray tonight for every person who is remaining vigilante on a particular political issue as we resist the destructive rhetoric, actions, and policies of the current administration.
It feels like ethical whack-a-mole around here. A new cause for concern pops up every moment--more than any one person can address.
Help us all to find a way to raise our voices wherever needed without succumbing to distraction, dissolution, or despair. Amen.
