California Senate

God of Refuge, bless the California Senate, which passed a bill to limit state and local law enforcement's cooperation with federal immigration agents. Local police won't be forced into serving as agents of deportation, and people in immigrant communities won't have to be quite as fearful to report a crime or call for help. May this legislation be a model for other states, and may these lawmakers continue to show moral courage. Amen.
