Doug Jones

Holy God, I pray blessing on Doug Jones, a former U.S. attorney who is a candidate to represent Alabama in the senate. Jones is a proponent of fairness, education, affordable health care, and abiding by the Constitution. He speaks out against racism. His opponent, Roy Moore, openly endorses racist, heterosexist, and bigoted views; he was twice removed from the role of Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court for refusing to uphold the law. Jones is tangibly resisting the normalization of white supremacy in U.S. political discourse. He is also resisting palpable threats to the LGBTQ community. Remove every obstacle in his path, God, and allow his success to be a powerful rebuke of hatred. Amen.
